Baskin Robbins (US) Opens First Franchised Australian Store

20 Dec 2010 - The first Australian Baskin Robbins store to be opened under the US parent company is now trading at Camp Hill, Brisbane.

Baskin-Robbins International, which recently seized back its franchise rights from collapsed Allied Brands business, says the opening marks "a new and exciting era". The company is looking to grow the business and expand the number of locations across Australia.

“Baskin-Robbins is the number one franchised ice cream brand around the world with almost 6400 ice cream shops in 39 countries,” said Srinivas Kumar, president and COO.

“Australia has fantastic opportunities for growth, both through new and existing franchisees, which is evident by the opening of our first new store under Baskin-Robbins International ownership.

“We are actively looking to increase the number of Baskin-Robbins outlets in Australia and are excited about the level of interest that is already evident in the market."

Five more new stores are scheduled to open soon - in Wellington Point (Qld), Pacific Pines (Qld), Coffs Harbour (NSW), Paradise Point (Qld) and Tugun (Qld).

The franchisee of the new Baskin-Robbins Camp Hill outlet is Steve McLeod.
